It's... quitting my job to do what I love
Yep, you read that right. Last week I packed up my office of my full-time marketing job, filled up my car, grabbed my dog and am about to hit the ground running with my bf, Lewis.
Flashback to earlier this year, I moved out of my apartment, right before the pandemic started, and moved into an RV with Lewis and Paisley. Had to downsize a LOT, but having a home on wheels means mobility, freedom and living as minimalistic as possible. It opens up so much possibility; no rent or house payment, no debt, no being STUCK in one place.
After moving into our RV and getting adjusted, the world started to fall apart around us. Yep, COVID hit, and made everything come into question. What's the right thing to do? Should I stay in my job or pursue my passions? If anything this year has taught me that you could do everything by the books, and things could still fall apart so why not at least try doing what you love? There's always tomorrow. There's always another opportunity, a new path, a new adventure. So I've decided to go for mine.
My real passions in life are photography, content writing, and graphic design and this year REALLY tested that for me. I mean, this year has literally been INSANE and devastating and cruel, but also has opened my eyes that you really only get one life so you might as well do what you want while you can. SO I ACTUALLY for ONCE took my own advice, and did one of the craziest things I've ever done, I quit my job to pursue these passions.
It's a bit scary, but it's also SO freeing. I have the time to do the things I love, time to put into my photography business, time to spend cooking delicious meals and the time to travel. This winter I'll be heading out to visit my bfs family in Portland for the winter. (Covid safely always). I'm going to actually take time for ME and relax and hike and read and cook and explore.
I thought it would be inspiring for others to see someone pursuing their passions, which is why I've decided to start an ACTUAL blog. Probably the most writing I've done since I graduated from the Journalism School at MSU (LOL Yikes).
